Hello! We just got home a little while ago from the Port Neches "Thunder on the River" Festival. Port Neches is the town right next to us, which is named after the Neches River running beside it. (NAY-chus.) One thing Texans seem to like as much as their citizenship is their festivals! This one was supposed to come complete with boat races and fireworks!
I have learned that Dan and I have very different styles of going to festivals, carnivals, etc. Dan is a "let's go check out all the rides and then buy enough tickets for the ones we want to go on" type of guy. I, on the other hand, am a "let's buy 12 tickets and when we run out, oh well!" kind of gal. So, as we strolled around the carnival area, viewing each ride and it's specific amount of tickets required, I was rather impatiently chomping at the bit. Finally, the boys (D&X) had picked out the rides they wanted to go on, and we headed to a booth to buy a - 30 PACK. That's right. After all that calculating and ticket estimating, we bought the value pack anyway. :-)
After going thru a fun house and riding a whirly ride, we headed down towards the river to watch fireworks. Apparently, we read the wrong paper, though. The fireworks will be tomorrow night. So, we'll be going back to see them tomorrow night. Maybe we can see some speed boat races also! Hey, maybe we'll spend the rest of those tickets while we're at it...... hehe.
