Mom's house

After exhausting the lure of the giant fish tank, (pun intended) we drove out to Mom's house for the rest of the day. Once there, we headed straight for the pool! The NC heat was getting intense, but that was nothing compared to the HUMIDITY of the Texas Gulf Coast. I perspire just thinking about going outside! Caedmon had fun getting used to the water. It was his first time in a pool and he finally got used to the temperature enough to play around a little. Xav, of course, was right at home in the water.

For dinner, Mom had fixed our favorite "mom's-house" menu. 7-layer salad, Chicken casserole, all the extras with the crowning glory - Homemade Banana Pudding. Oh yeah...
You can't tell me I haven't earned these hips! So sad that we didn't have anywhere to bring the leftovers....

After dinner, we all went on this crazy walk around the neighborhood. Their neighborhood has a new division under construction, so there were lots of new houses to go exploring in. There were also lots of NC hills to walk up and down. I had never realized just how "rolling" the NC Piedmont actually is. Until I had to walk back up all those hills, that is! So, we got back to the house and decided to drive the Hummer down and go get X-man, who had stayed with the "big" boys. When we arrived, they all decided to pile in and we drove back looking like a bunch of teenagers. (Or like some trips home after band practice, huh Mom?) It was a good time!

Wednesday morning, we woke up and got ready to leave for SC. Xav got to ride around on the Arctic Cat with Grandpa Louis before we loaded up. What a blast!
