Congress and their important issues! Have you heard about the mandatory light bulb switch in a few years? The old Edison ones won't be available anymore. Pay close attention to how they describe the proper disposal of the new CFL lightbulbs....
Some years ago I got stupid and bought a pile of these.. They weren't the $7 ones, but were 'subsidized' probably: like 78 cents each or something. Hubby wasn't thrilled then (and that was before the 'proper disposal' information was out) and eventually removed them from our home. Even then, it was a conundrum... Poisoning groundwater or garbage handlers isn't exactly a good idea either. Hubby has instructed me to fill the basement with incandescent bulbs or hijack a semi-trailer full of them to keep on hand.
