Hubby and I had already decided that Christmas this year was going to be very different for our family. We've planned to do only one special gift per child and then spend time and resources helping others less fortunate than ourselves. We've started with Samaritan's Purse shoe boxes, and then plan to bring goody bags to the nursing home I told you about. Now, we're wondering what else can we do?
Spending money on gifts that our families may or may not like, (and most likely don't need) just doesn't sound appealing anymore. Not when there are so many other people who go without day after day.
Buying a meaningless gift card doesn't compare to helping fund an adoption, or helping provide a fresh water well in a "third world" country. Could your family cut back on the busy-ness and commericalism of Christmas and focus on the relationships instead this year? Check out this video we saw last night.
