How long *do you think* you might be down there? 

We keep thinking the number 5 sounds right.  Maybe 5 years or so?   We'll have to see how it goes once we're there, and of course, be ready to do what God leads us to.  Then again, if the U.S. gets another winner president, maybe we'll just stay down there.  (j.k., sort of.)   

Will you have running water in your house?  

Yes.  However, it isn't like the running water we have here.  It's slower, and probably only a single faucet or two.   We'll also have a toilet, but no water heater....not that you really need one.  

What is the political and economic climate of Belize, of your area? 
Well, from what we read in the books, and from what we learned from the locals and citizens there, it's... interesting.  They are a democratic country, and part of the UK.  They just recently had an election for some government offices.  They have a Prime Minister and a Governor General(?).  But, we've heard a lot of mixed reviews about the political party in place right now.  Sort of like....here.  Most of the ex-pats we talked to said to just stay out of the politics b/c they're so emotional about it there.  I've also heard some tales of corruption and needing to have the cash to get anything done...  So, we'll see. 

Do you expect to have a washing machine, hire a laundress, or other? :)

Hehe.  Well, we saw several washing machines for sale in the stores.  The little European-style kind with the dryer on the other side.  But, we didn't see any in the homes of the locals.  They all washed their laundry in the creek, or had a little wash area in the yard.  Our friend, Ambrosia, had a small wash hut with a second pvc pipe that ran to it.  They bathed and did the laundry in that hut. 
Electricity is a luxury in their homes, also.  That being said, I think we might do a wash tub and a washboard at first.  Even if we do have electricity, we don't want to run it constantly - a fridge and the computers at most. I don't want to stand out any more than we need to, it's already going to be dead obvious "we ain't from 'round these parts."    The accents and all.   :-)
