Hey! Saturday morning, we woke early and piled into the car for another sight-seeing adventure! We swung thru McD's and headed out to Galveston Island, about 1 1/2 hours from here. We drove past herd after herd of cattle, and then started seeing coastal properties. It looked very similar to the drive down to Myrtle Beach. Lots of homes on piers, several beach souvenir shops, some seafood places. It was really a pretty drive. Dan told us to be on the lookout for the lighthouse and soon we would be there! Xavier spotted it right away and we got excited about riding on the ferry.
I didn't realize we would be driving onto the ferry and riding over at first. It was a brand new experience for the boys and me! We waited in line for our turn to board, and then drove up onto the boat. Once everyone was loaded, we could get out and walk around! We walked up to the bow and watched all the other ships passing by. It was so neat! Xavier loved it! Caedmon even looked excited. When we got to the shore, we drove off and went to find a good spot on the beach. Xavier was so excited to play on the beach, he stopped and started digging right as we walked off the sidewalk onto sand. We had to convince him there would be better spots to dig in! He finally conceeded to follow us! Ha. He and Daddy played in the water, while I read a book and Caed napped in his stroller! It was a great trip!
We had entertained the thought of going to a dirt bike rally on the way home, but Xav was exhausted and conked out long before we passed the arena. So, that will have to wait until next time around! Hope you all had a good weekend!!
Smiles,
Jana
