Xav Flying High

Hey y'all. I have time for one more post before Tropical Storm Humberto or whatever its name is. Then I will have to unplug my computer and all the other appliances that could be good conductors for lightning. You know, the toaster, the coffee maker, etc... We already battened down the hatches outside, and tarped-up (that's my own term, you have permission to borrow it upon occasion) the Big Three. Trailer, Tools, and Toys. You should see us kick into Marine Mode and start tying things down. It's comical to say the least.

I have learned a lot in these few months living at 5-10 ft. above sea level on the Gulf Coast. Most of them have to do with MOLD, and how quickly things will MOLD here. So, let me tell you quickly about why this is once again a problem.... The Landlord is building us a gigantic 16x16 storage building in the backyard. (B/C you might have thought it was in the front yard if I didn't write BACKYARD, right?)

We are ever-so-grateful for said storage unit, however, the metal siding has not arrived yet from the Friendly Nationwide Chain of Hardware Stores. So, the above-mentioned HUGE storage building is sitting outside, doing us absolutely no good against Humberto-whateveritsnameis.

Well....the other day, we thought, "Why pay another month's rent on our Climate Controlled Unit down the road when we will soon have our own unit in the Backyard?"

So, we brought all of our things back to the house and have them packed in the little trailer we got from my Dad. And once again, important stuff is outside in the humidity and rain. Sigh....

Nature :2
Us: Zero

Oh, I bet you're wondering what the heck I named this post "Xav Flying High" for, right?
Let me get on with what was supposed to be a quick tale. The other day, on a Daddy Day Off, we went to the bigger mall nearby. They have this really cool Bungee Bounce thing, so we let Xav have a go at it. He loved it!!! For the first few seconds he forgot how brave he was, then he slowly remembered. ;-) He still wouldn't really let go. A few times he waved his hands around and immediately gripped the ropes again. Since we were the only ones there on a mid-week morning, the guy let us have a much longer turn! Thank you, Bungee Man!

(Oh yeah, and this is just another product of the handy-dandy camera phone!)
