What just happened here?

Howdy howdy. We got back from our little excursion to Mr. T's (health food store) a while ago. It was a bit unsettling for Daddy, to say the least. I was going for some Progesterone cream - which I mentioned was recommended for all kinds of health issues I need to resolve. So, we go into the tiny store and I walked up to the counter where the owner was sitting. The little couple that owns the store is so cute. They are in their 80's and absolutely the healthiest people I have ever seen!

As soon as the tiny little woman saw the kids, she immediately knew XMan was sick. (He's been coughing right along with me while I battle bronchitis.) She goes, "Oh my goodness, I know exactly what you need to give that baby!" So, she jumped up from the counter before we could even recover and off she went. Daddy looked at me quizically - we were there for one thing, remember?

She comes running back with two items, and I finally get to ask her about the progesterone stuff. She darts off again, with us trying to keep up, and we find the cream right away. Then I go and let out a cough and she starts in on me! She says, "Oh my goodness, you have it too?" And she runs off AGAIN to a cooler and brings me back a jar of pills to take. "Take this, it will clean all those antibiotics out of your body, you don't need antibiotics for a cough!"

At this point, Daddy is starting to perspire b/c of the sheer energy of this woman, not to mention the amounts of our money she is spending! So, he reaches up to scratch his arm and she exclaims, "What are you scratching for? Are you using that awful deodorant stuff? You need to use this!" (Running off to get yet ANOTHER item off the shelves) "That stuff will put aluminum in your body! Don't use that stuff!"

She must have made an impression on Daddy, becasue we bought almost everything she "recommended." And that's how we went to Mr. T's to buy one thing and ended up buying $50 worth of products! I think she should have sold Kirby vacuum cleaners. Then they might still be in business.

Try to imagine that $50 like an insurance payment. It's $50 you (hopefully) won't have to spend on a doctor's visit (which will expose you to god-knows-what in the waiting room, pharmaceuticals which will hurt you while [if] they help you, and not really fix the root problem), and what is $50 compared to missing out on a week of exhaustion, illness, house getting out-of-hand, etc? Hey, $50 is a bargain. :) If Sambucol was among your items (anything elderberry, too), elderberry extract turns out to be one of the most potent antivirals on the planet. Now, if I could just take it without gagging...

Hey, that's awesome news! I am counting on this elderberry working. It comes in a yummy grape flavor, so the kids aren't having any issues taking it, which is wonderful!
