Blue Heron Look what we have in our backyard! The first few times we saw them, we were shocked. These birds usually stay near marshlands, lakes or rivers. Apparently our yard holds so much water after a big rain that they have "put the word out" to come eat here! That's fine with me, they can have all the bugs they want from my yard. Today's storm brought about 4 of them out to dine on our insect delicacies. They actually came pretty close today, with one of them perching on the swingset.
Banner was in awe also. She just sat in my chair on the porch watching them. (That's right, she sits in my chair on the porch. Crazy dog.) So, every time we have a big rain, the boys and I rush to the back window to watch these awesome birds fly around our yard. Thought I would share!
